The challenge

Being the best gin distillery in the Western Cape, Wilderer Distillery wanted to up their game by realigning the content on the website to recent changes in search engine behaviour brought on by COVID-19. They asked me to provide an On-Page SEO Strategy and implement it across the site. This was an amazing project for me, getting a real insight into the world of the alcohol and spirits industry.

The solution

SEO: I rewrote the content based on an extensive keyword list I put together an analysis of the target market’s search behaviour. The keywords were aligned to be in context with the nature of the business and the target market. A client review was required before publishing the new pages so that any possible errors could be flagged. I then created an On-Page SEO Strategy based on the analysis of the web pages. This included a keyword target with a focus on long-tail keywords, title tags and meta descriptions. I ensured that the on-page elements were optimised for search.

WordPress Maintenance and Support: The client enjoyed working with me so much that he handed over the reins to his online store and asked me to keep it running like a well-oiled machine. Having 24/7 access to me via his maintenance plan allowed him to grow the business without worrying about the website.
